Malaysia’s Premier Pickleball League Opens Applications for Court Owners to Be Part of Inaugural Season
Malaysia’s Premier Pickleball League has formally opened applications from court owners to be part of its pioneer 2025 season starting in August and running through October. The league is the country’s first and only professional competitive club-based pickleball league and is designed to showcase top-tier talent in an exciting and dynamic format
The Premier Pickleball League aims to be Malaysia’s most valuable and visible pickleball league—offering sponsors unmatched reach, authentic engagement, and premium exposure across media, grassroots, and national stages. It seeks to deliver a high-impact sports platform that connects brands with passionate communities, promoting healthy lifestyles and creating nationwide excitement through professional pickleball.
The league will feature 12 teams that will play in 12 venues for a whopping prize pool of RM300,000. More than that, the Premier Pickleball League is looking to reshape the Malaysian pickleball landscape with its own league similar to that of Major League Pickleball in the US. In the PPL, each chosen court owner will form and play host to one team and their venue will be ground zero of several high-profile, guaranteed-to-be-exciting matches featuring the country’s top players.
The inaugural Premier Pickleball League season will feature:
- A total of 12 professional teams will be competing across these categories: men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
- Two international players allowed per team.
- Only players with a DUPR rating of at least 4.0+ for men and 3.7+ for women will be qualified to play.
- Astro Arena and Astro SOOKA will broadcast live and livestream the matches.
- Massive social media promotion and engagement are guaranteed.
Court owners who wish to apply must:
- Be located in Penang, Johor Bahru, or Selangor.
- Have a minimum of four pickleball courts (30 x 60 feet).
- Have a spectator-friendly viewing area.
- Have the capacity to form and represent a home pro team.

Applications at the moment are still preliminary and won’t guarantee selection just yet. Each submission will be carefully and thoroughly reviewed by the tournament organisers and shortlisted before the final list is chosen.
