Global Pickleball Brand SYPIK Signs Four of Singapore’s Top Players to Pro Team

SYPIK, a rapidly growing global pickleball brand from Vietnam, is proud to announce the signing of four of Singapore’s most accomplished pickleball players, including two players in their 50s, to its professional team. This strategic move underscores SYPIK’s commitment to fostering pickleball talent and expanding its regional and global presence, while significantly bolstering the support for elite athletes in Singapore.
The four Singaporean players joining the SYPIK Pro Team are:
- Yeo Jih-Shian (57 years old)
- Pini Lee (57 years old)
- Ping Boon Chia (40 years old)
- Zermaine Lew (25 years old)
Jih-Shian and Lew currently hold the coveted no. 1 men’s and women’s rankings in Singapore across all age ranges, respectively, based on DUPR ratings, the most widely recognised global rating system for pickleball. All four players rank among the top few players in Singapore and have collectively garnered multiple gold medals in local, regional, and international competitions, including the RMB 1 million prize pool China Pickleball Open Finals Expo Bridge Cup in Chengdu in April 2025, the Asia Pickleball Open in Pattaya in March 2025, and the World Pickleball Championship series Finals in Vietnam in January 2025.
“I’m incredibly humbled and grateful for this opportunity” said Jih-Shian. “It’s particularly meaningful for Pini and me to be signed on at our age. While we’ve had sponsorships from other pickleball brands in the US/North America, we’re especially delighted to sign with an Asian brand as a professional athlete on its pro team.”
Meet the SYPIK Team Additions

Yeo Jih-Shian
A trailblazer in Singapore pickleball, Jih-Shian is the only Singaporean to have been drafted and played in the US National Pickleball League for senior professionals in its 2023 and 2024 seasons. He was ranked No. 1 in Singapore across all age ranges as at the end of 2024 and at various other times in 2025 based on DUPR ratings.
Jih-Shian was also ranked No. 1 in Asia for men’s doubles, mixed doubles, and singles in the 50+ seniors categories as at the end of 2024 and/or at various other times in 2024 on the Pickleball Global platform. He won 18 Gold medals in prize money categories in 2024 alone, including in open-age categories. Jih-Shian picked up pickleball in June 2021, during the Covid pandemic. Beyond the court, Jih-Shian was a lawyer at a global law firm and currently dedicates some of his time to volunteering with two charities in Singapore

Pini Lee
Lee is one of the most prolific medalists in prize money categories in Asia and a legend in pickleball circles in Singapore and Asia. She has won multiple triple crowns (for senior categories in womens, mixed and singles) in tournaments in Asia, including at the PPA Tour Asia Panas Malaysian Open and is ranked No. 1 in Asia for all 50+ seniors categories on the Pickleball Global platform.
Zermaine Lew
Formerly a member of Singapore’s National Youth Table Tennis Team and currently ranked as Singapore’s No. 1 pickleball player based on DUPR ratings, Lew has shown remarkable athletic versatility and rapid success since transitioning to pickleball. She recently clinched two Golds in the Open Mixed and Women’s Doubles at this year’s Singapore Pickleball Open, along with two more Golds at the PPA Tour Asia Panas Malaysian Open.

Ping Boon Chia
A top player in Singapore, Boon Chia has clinched the men’s and mixed doubles titles in the annual Pesta Sukan for several years, showcasing his dominance in local competitions. He is increasingly making his mark on regional tournaments.
Exciting Times for SYPIK
“We are incredibly excited to welcome these exceptional Singaporean athletes to the SYPIK Pro Team,” said Giang Huyen Trang, a spokesperson for SYPIK. “As a premier pickleball company from Asia, we want to support more pickleball players from the region. This partnership marks a significant milestone for pickleball in Singapore and is a testament to the growing prominence of pickleball in Singapore, and our commitment to providing unprecedented support for its top athletes and further solidifying the sport’s growing popularity in the region.”

He added: “As members of the SYPIK Pro Team, these players will receive comprehensive benefits, including training, a monthly allowance, reimbursement for travel expenses to overseas tournaments, and performance bonuses. They will also be an integral part of our global SYPIK Pro Team and community that includes renowned pickleball stars such as Quang Duong, currently one of the top-ranked players on the PPA (Professional Pickleball Association) Tour and in the world.”
Besides Singapore, SYPIK has currently signed on top pickleball players in Asia from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, among others. Being part of the team would enable the four Singaporean players to be part of SYPIK’s expanding pickleball community in Asia and globally.
The players have expressed their excitement about joining the SYPIK Pro Team, said Giang, which provides them with the support and resources to pursue the sport competitively, represent Singapore on the regional and international stage, and ultimately inspire more Singaporeans, young or old, to pick up a pickleball paddle.
