All Indian Pickleball Association Announces Updates on Case vs. MYAS, IPA

The All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) got a favourable ruling from the Delhi High Court in its opposition to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) recognising the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) as the national sports federation (NSF) of the sport in India.
The MYAS recently recognised the IPA as the official NSF of pickleball in India, a move that took AIPA by surprise as it has been working on gaining that prestigious recognition for quite some time now, only for it to be given to an organisation that has been operational for just six months.
The circumstances behind the surprise recognition prompted AIPA to take the matter to court, and it appears the association has secured some small wins.
Taking to Facebook, the AIPA announced that the Delhi High Court has asked MYAS to produce complete records related to the recognition of IPA. At the same time, the court, according to AIPA, stressed the need for transparency and thus rejected the Government of India’s request for more time to comply.
“The Delhi High Court has directed the Ministry to submit the full file related to the recognition granted to the newly formed Indian Pickleball Association (IPA),” the AIPA wrote on Facebook. “The Court rejected the Government of India’s request for more time, stressing the need for transparency in the recognition process.”

Another court hearing as also ben set on 23 May 2025, according to AIPA.
“Government of India also acknowledged the involvement of the New Indian Pickleball Association (NIPA), a Bangalore-based body that merged with AIPA in 2024,” the group further stated. “The Court took note of these concerns and set the next hearing for May 23, 2025.”

In the same Facebook post, AIPA stressed that it “continues to advocate for transparency and fairness in the interest of the entire pickleball community” and enjoined its members to stay tuned for updates.
AIPA’s announcement comes on the heels of the IPA recently holding a milestone meeting that served to outline the IPA’s next moves to promote and cultivate pickleball across India.
