Grand Pickleball Arena Launches Grandstand Championship Court, Malaysia Super Pickleball League

Pickleball is making waves in Malaysia, captivating enthusiasts nationwide. Its rapid growth is attributed to its accessibility and the ease with which facilities can be adapted for play. This surge in popularity has led to the establishment of dedicated venues and social clubs across the country.

A significant milestone in this burgeoning scene is the recent inauguration of the Malaysia Super Pickleball League (MSPL) at the Grand Pickleball Arena (GPA). This premier competition unites top-tier athletes and introduces Malaysia’s first Grandstand Championship Court, a state-of-the-art venue poised to elevate the nation’s competitive pickleball landscape.

“The launch of MSPL and our Grandstand Championship Court is a major step in advancing pickleball in Malaysia,” said Low Chung King, owner of GPA. “This facility will host high-calibre tournaments, develop local talent, and prepare players for international competition.”

World-Class Pickleball Court for the Malaysia Super Pickleball League

Boasting 300 spectator seats, the championship court offers an unparalleled experience for both players and fans. This development fulfills a long-held aspiration among Malaysian pickleball enthusiasts, providing a world-class setting to witness exhilarating matches. GPA, featuring 16 courts, celebrated its full facility’s soft launch on March 1, 2025.

The MSPL transcends mere competition; it’s a testament to the sport’s swift ascent in Malaysia. According to the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR), Malaysia ranks among the top nations experiencing rapid growth in pickleball participation. The league offers a platform for elite athletes and inspires countless newcomers to embrace the sport.

The inaugural MSPL comprises eight teams, each with seven players, selected from a competitive pool of 166 participants. With a prize pool of RM21,000, it stands as one of Malaysia’s most lucrative pickleball tournaments. The competition unfolds over four matchdays: February 8, 9, 16, and March 1, 2025, showcasing exceptional skill, strategy, and sportsmanship.

A Venue for High-Level Pickleball Competitions

League Commissioner and Infinity Sport Academy co-founder Brandan Gabriel Lai highlighted the significance of the Grandstand Court, stating it provides an ideal arena for high-level competition and offers fans the opportunity to witness world-class pickleball action.

“This league is a turning point for Malaysian pickleball,” said Lai. “The Grandstand Court is a game-changer, offering the perfect arena for players to compete at the highest level and for fans to witness world-class pickleball action.”

The dedicated efforts of Infinity Sport Academy, serving as the official event organizer, have elevated the MSPL to premier status, further solidifying Malaysia’s presence in the global pickleball community.
