Indian Lifestyle Brand Myntra Opens In-House Pickleball Court for Employee Wellness
Myntra, one of India’s leading fashion and lifestyle brands, is turning to a red-hot sport to promote employee wellness.
That sport, as you may have guessed by now, is pickleball.
Founded in 2007, the Bengaluru-based company has just opened a brand-new, state-of-the-art pickleball court in its corporate office as it continues to look for more creative ways to inspire employees to live a fit and healthy lifestyle. The hope is that with a pickleball court in its headquarters, Myntra will be able to foster a healthier work environment through a more active lifestyle. The company also hopes that pickleball could help employees nurture their camaraderie and help build a stronger community.
The new outdoor pickleball court was inaugurated earlier today, the 19th of February, with a company-wide event. It was graced by company executives and Commonwealth Games champ and badminton icon Ashwini Ponnappa, who got in a few shots and volleys at the court.
The choice of pickleball is a no-brainer. Not only is it the world’s fastest growing sport, it is also emerging as a powerhouse in India. To date, pickleball is growing at a meteoric rate in the Indian subcontinent, where sports brands and a big companies alike are investing heavily at growing the sport. Pickleball is also known for the spirit of its community it instills among players as well as being an easy sport to pick up, learn, and play.

The pickleball court is the latest addition to the range of sporting facilities already at the Myntra headquarters. Among the facilities employees can freely use are a lawn tennis court, an indoor gaming arena, a state-of-the-art gym, an indoor badminton court, a cricket practice net, and a table tennis space.
Myntra’s in-house pickleball court is open to the company’s employees and their family and friends. It is available every day, even on weekends.
