Indian Open 2025: Global Sports Taps Bollywood Luminaries for Asia’s Largest Pickleball Championship

The Indian Open 2025, Asia’s largest pickleball championship scheduled this February, is set to elevate pickleball even more in the Indian subcontinent. And will get some much-needed help from Global Sports, a leading sports management firm, and Karan Johar and Shashank Khaitan, two respected Indian filmmakers and certified Bollywood luminaries.

The three powerhouses recently announced their high-profile collaboration for the Indian Open 2025, which they foresee as further elevating the sport’s profile in India. The Indian Open 2025, will unforld starting the 3rd of February and last until the 9th of February. It will have a record-breaking prize pool of USD $125,000 and see over 1,800 players competing across multiple categories.

 “Pickleball holds a special place in my heart because it’s not just about the sport—it’s about the connections it fosters and the joy it brings. When I first experienced pickleball with Global Sports, I was struck by their passion and vision to make it a cultural phenomenon in India. Being part of this journey feels deeply personal, and I can’t wait to see how this incredible community continues to grow,” said Karan of his role in promoting the Indian Open 2025.

Shashank added: “Pickleball is a sport that combines strategy, athleticism, and camaraderie, and I am honoured to be part of its growth in India. Through the Indian Open 2025, we aim to set a new benchmark for the sport and inspire more people to experience its magic.”

The Indian Open 2025 will also usher in the Global Sports Pickleball Pro & Challenger League. This new league is yet another initiative by Global Sports in its tireless efforts to spur pickleball’s growth and professionalise the sport in the process.

Through our ecosystem of courts, coaching, and iconic tournaments, we’re not only fostering talent but also making the sport accessible and exciting for everyone. The Indian Open 2025 is set to be our biggest milestone yet, showcasing India as the epicentre of pickleball in Asia,” said Global Sports Founder Hemal Jain of the upcoming tournament in Mumbai.

Global Sports, of course, has been one of the primary movers of pickleball in India, and organising massive tournaments like the Indian Open 2025 will no doubt move the sport to even greater heights.
