NEX Pickleball at The Podium Opens for Social Play, Coaching, Training, and Even Tournaments
There’s a new pickleball facility in Sarawak, and it’s conveniently and strategically located at one of the state’s landmarks: The Podium.
Called NEX Pickleball at The Podium, this new facility features five indoor courts specially designed for the usual social play, as well as for community pickleball events, coaching, and even training. It is nestled on the third floor of The Podium, which is located at Jalan Tun Datuk Patinggi Haji Ahmad Zaidi Adruce.
Aside from being accessible, player-friendly, and weather-proof, this community-first boutique indoor studio also features a distinct, cool-on-the-eyes colourway where the court’s surface is coloured blue and purple, with accents of pink. According to NEX Pickleball at The Podium Founder Envo Teoh, this colourway was specifically chosen for two reasons. First, it provides a strong contrast with the yellow balls. Second, it reflects the NEX brand, which Teoh says is “lively” and “exclusive.”
“Our purple/blue in-play surfaces with pink accents provide strong contrast with yellow balls under LED lighting, improve ball tracking on camera, and reflect NEX’s lively, inclusive brand,” Teoh told the Sarawak Tribune after the opening of NEX Pickleball at The Podium.
NEX, which stands for “Next Experience”, according to Teoh, can also hold official tournaments at the venue by collaborating with partner halls. However, he clarified that the facility “remains focused on community engagement and skill development.”
“As for NEX, it stands for Next Experience—reflecting our vision to bring players to the next level of sporting, social, and lifestyle experiences through pickleball,” he said. “It’s about moving forward, exploring new possibilities, and creating a vibrant community space.”
Since its opening last week, NEX Pickleball at The Podium has already proven to be a hit among local pickleball enthusiasts, many of whom have trooped to the venue to experience pickleball in a comfy, well-designed, made-for-the-sport venue.
