Philippines’ Toby’s Youth Sports Foundation Holds Free Grassroots Pickleball, Basketball Clinics in Rizal Public School

Toby’s Youth Sports Foundation, in partnership with Toby’s Sports, recently held free grassroots basketball and pickleball clinics at the covered court of Barangay Cuyambay in Tanay, Rizal.
The outreach aimed to introduce children from Cuyambay Elementary School to the basics of both sports while promoting teamwork, confidence, and physical activity.
Toby’s Sports has lately been very active in the world of pickleball, teaming up with SM Malls to host the SM Pickleball Super Series. This commitment to pickleball continued over the weekend, with Toby’s Sports volunteers, along with professional pickleball coach Mark Casal and e-commerce head Luis Angelo Claudio, leading the sessions. Pickleball, one of the country’s fastest-growing sports, drew curiosity and excitement, while basketball kept the energy high—which is to be expected given the Philippines’ love for hoops.
To support continued play, the foundation donated sports equipment including balls, paddles, and nets to Cuyambay Elementary School.
“We’re building more than athletes—we’re building self-esteem and values,” said Toby’s Sports president Toby Claudio, who personally handed over the donated gear.
Andrea Tan, Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, added: “The laughter and energy we saw from the kids show how sport can uplift and connect communities.”
The clinic is part of the foundation’s push to make sports more accessible to youth in underserved areas nationwide. With pickleball’s popularity growing by leaps and bounds, expect the foundation of Toby’s Sports to get more and more involved with it and hold similar activities and competitions.
