PNA Attends Grand Opening of Dink! Pickle Daily—Vibrant New Courts in Malaysia’s Petaling Jaya
Pickleball News Asia was invited to the grand opening of Dink! Pickle Daily, the newest and most vibrant addition to the pickle court scene in Malaysia.
Boasting eight premium-level courts, founders Katherine and Benny kicked the event off with an incredible lion dance, with the lions covering every inch of the facility, ensuring no evil spirits got overlooked and surely bringing good fortune to the venue.
Not that we think they need luck, as the facility has been well designed (as they show on their signage “by players for players”), and you can see that a lot of thought has gone into ensuring picklers who use Dink! Pickle Daily will experience an excellent playing environment.
We managed to grab a quick chat, with the very busy but still very hospitable founders to get a bit more info on their journey so far and their aspirations and plans for the future.
On the question of “the story” behind the team who opened Dink! Pickle Daily, they explained: “It all started with Katherine, who fell in love with pickleball after just her third game. Frustrated by the difficulty of finding an available court, she dreamed of having a space where she could play anytime—and that dream became Dink! Pickle Daily.”
With the venue having such a nice atmosphere, we wondered who were the pair’s target players and what kind of “vibe” they were aiming for. Benny and Katherine are clear on this point, telling us, “We’re here for players of all levels who crave social, fun, and energetic vibes—but we also take the game seriously. Our courts are thoughtfully designed with sufficient side and back spacing and fully barricaded for the best playing experience.”
The pair are quite rightly proud of what they have built and told us a bit more about the facilities:
8 spacious indoor courts
2 courts with full-height netting, perfect for drilling and coaching sessions
1 mini court (free to use!) for family games – kids can join the fun with complimentary kids paddles available at the counter
Cozy café and lounge area for post-game hangs, or even hosting an event
On the question of whether they will have a coaching academy, that is firmly in their plans. Katherine confirmed it: “A structured coaching and academy program is on the way. Stay tuned!”
They also highlighted to us, “We have the best washroom in town, equipped with a full range of toiletries, hair dryer, and even hair wax, it’s air-conditioned so players can freshen up after games. We have ample free parking inside the compound, and we even have plenty of space to host outdoor events.”
