The results are in from the PPA Las Vegas event.
The Johns brothers perform at the highest level but no longer dominate. In our opinion Colin’s defensive style is coming under increasing pressure in the modern game. It’s holding up but not well enough for the Johns brothers to dominate like they used to. The speed of the play now means that his reliance on resets is tested to ferociously. Hence they came up short of a podium.
Looking at the first round of the men’s singles you will notice the appearance of a Bao Duong (Yes, Quang’s younger brother). Is this the start of a a new family dynasty to start to take shape on the PPA tour.
Also congrats to Japan’s Kenta Miyoshi for featuring in the first round of the men’s singles.
