Robinsons Land Corp Expands to Sports and Recreation, Announces Helios Pickleball Centre in PH

Asia’s first pro pickleball centre—Helios Pickleball Centre—will soon rise in the Philippines. This after the Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corp (RLC) announced it is venturing into sports, entertainment, and recreation with the launch of Robinsons Sports, Entertainment, and Recreation.
With this announcement, RLC will be expanding beyond its core portfolio of malls, office towers, and residential developments, and building the Helios Pickleball Centre is among the first big projects of this massive expansion. In fact, RLC is set to break ground on the Helios Pickleball Center, and this will officially the debut project of Robinsons Sports, Entertainment, and Recreation, RLC’s newly launched business arm focused on developing sports and leisure facilities.
RLC chairman Lance Y. Gokongwei and representatives from the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) and Major League Pickleball (MLP) are expected to attend the groundbreaking event, underscoring the significance of the soon-to-rise Helios Pickleball Centre and its potential to be Asia’s finest
“With the launch of Robinsons Sports, Entertainment, and Recreation, we are expanding into new spaces that complement Robinsons Land’s recognized strengths—especially our malls that serve Filipino communities nationwide and our growing Destination Estates like Bridgetowne,” said RLC President and CEO Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio. “Helios is just the beginning.”
Helios Pickleball Centre: Asia’s Finest Location Will Soon Rise
Helios Pickleball Centre will be a joint venture with Kosmas Athletic Ventures Corporation (KAVC) and will rise within the Bridgetowne Destination Estate in Pasig City. The eight-story facility will be the first tournament-grade pickleball complex in Asia, reinforcing Bridgetowne’s position as a forward-thinking urban hub that supports active, wellness-driven lifestyles.
GoBio said the project reflects RLC’s vision “to support the rising popularity of pickleball while creating accessible, world-class venues that promote active lifestyles and national pride through sport.”
Scheduled for completion in 2027, the Helios facility will feature 25 professional-grade pickleball courts, including a stadium court built to international standards. The 17,500-square-metre complex will also house a gym, a sports clinic, dining options, and two levels of basement parking. In other words, this expansive centre will feature everything pickleball players would need and want.

The PPA Tour and Helios Pickleball Centre: Future Dance Partners?
Additionally, Helios Pickleball Centre is envisioned as a future venue on the PPA Tour, positioning it to attract international-level competitions. Courts will be accessible to the public through PodPlay, a digital booking platform aimed at encouraging broad participation.
This inclusive approach reflects broader shifts in how Filipinos live and play. RLC, through Bridgetowne, is aligning its developments with a new urban vision—one where health, connectivity, and purpose go hand in hand.
Once considered a niche activity, pickleball has exploded in recent years, particularly in the United States, where participation more than doubled from 8.9 million in 2022 to nearly 20 million by 2024.
The sport’s simple rules, low barrier to entry, and cross-generational appeal have turned it into a global phenomenon and a billion-dollar industry. It is even eyeing a debut at the Brisbane 2032 Olympics, with international governing bodies rallying behind the bid.
