Still No. 1 in Asia: Quang Duong Rules Continent in Singles, Doubles in Latest DUPR Rankings

Quang Duong continues to be Asia’s finest in pickleball—and the latest DUPR rankings confirm it as Duong remains the no. 1 pickleball player in the continent both in singles and doubles.

As of 10 June 2025, Duong has accumulated 6,638 points in men’s doubles and 6,865 points in men’s singles, and both totals put the 19-year-old tennis pickleball pro atop the Asian rankings based on the DUPR system. Duong is also well ahead of the competition as he is 441 points ahead of second-placed Eric Roddy of the Philippines and 453 points clear of compatriot Phuc Huynh.

Despite being fined 50,000 USD by UPA in May 2025 for participating in an unrecognized tournament in Lao Cai (Vietnam), he still maintained his stability and superior technique, surpassing opponents such as Armaan Bhatia (India, 6,341 points) in men’s doubles and Eric Roddy (Philippines, 6,424 points) in men’s singles.

In the doubles rankings, besides Quang Duong, there is another Vietnamese player, Quan Do.

Duong is also over 200 points clear of Arman Bhatia and Harsh Mehta of India in men’s doubles, highlighting the young man’s mastery in Asia. Fellow VIetnamese Quan Do is sixth, and he is the third Vietnamese to the top 10 in either category.

The US-born Duong turned professional in 2023 after switching from tennis and paddle. The switch has proven to be the right one as he has quickly emerged not only as Asia’s top pickleball player, but also one of the fastest rising stars in the US pickleball pro circuit. In his short time as a pickleball pro, the Vietnamese pickler has played 339 matches in 49 tournaments and has won a silver at the 2024 Houston Open. He also has two victories over former world no. 1 Ben Johns, who is widely viewed as the GOAT of the sport at this point.

In the meantime, expect Duong to focus on PPA Tour tournaments in the US, even after he was fined and suspended by the UPA. Duong is currently no. 6 in the PPA, one seed higher from his ranking to start the year, and is expected to play in the Bristol Open and Open at the Las Vegas Strip in August and in the Veolia Cincinnati Slam and Pickleball Central Sacramento Vintage Open in September.

On the PPA Tour world rankings, Quang Duong is ranked 6th.

Duong’s status as the no. 1 player in Asia both underscores his immense talent and highlights Vietnam as a pickleball hotbed in Asia, with more and more players emerging. With his undeniable talent, aggressive play style, and fearless mindset, look for this Vietnamese sensation to continue being one of pickleball’s best, whether in Asia or in the world.
