Vietnam’s Trinh Linh Giang and China’s Yufei Long stand atop the first PPA Tour Asia rankings, finishing at no. 1 in the men’s singles and women’s singles category, respectively.
Both Giang and Long are at the top of the rankings thanks to their gold-medal conquests in their respective divisions at the Panas Malaysia Open 2025 held last month. It was the first tournament of the PPA Tour Asia competition system, and Giang and Long each earned 1,000 points for winning the title.
India’s Vanshik Kapadia and Australia’s Nicola Schoeman, who each earned silver in the same tournament, are no. 2 in the first PPA Tour Asia rankings with 800 points apiece. Kapadia lost to Giang in the final of the Panas Malaysia Open 2025 in a thrilling back-and-forth that had the Malaysian crowd energised and inspired. Schoeman, on the other hand, lost a heartbreaker to Long, with the latter saving several match points to topple the former.
Hong Kongers Crowd the PPA Tour Asia Singles Rankings
Hong Kong’s Jack Wong Hong-kit and Malaysia’s Jimmy Liong, who both reached the semis of the Panas Malaysia Open 2025, are no. 3 and no. 4 in the PPA Tour Asia rankings with 600 and 400 points, respectively. Liong has vowed to do better in the next tournaments in the tour, while Hong-kit is aiming for a Triple Crown at the Hong Kong Open 2025, which will mark his debut in his home country.
Over at the distaff side, Hong Kong’s Tang Nok Yiu is at no. 3 with 600 points, with Chinese Taipei’s Huang Hsiang Wen at no. 4 with 400 points.
India’s Best Reign Supreme in the PPA Tour Asia Doubles Rankings
The Men’s Doubles rankings, meanwhile, are headlined by the Indian pair of Harsh Mehta and Vanshik Kapadia after they won gold in the Panas Malaysia Open 2025. The duo they beat in the finals, George Wall and Zachary Grabovic of Austrialia, are in joint third with 800 points. In joint fifth are Japan’s Kenta Miyoshi and Australia’s Lucas Pasoce with 600 points.
The pair of Wei Ting Chieh (Chinese Taipei) and Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall (US) are no. 1 in Women’s Doubles, followed by the duo of Long and Milhae Kwon (South Korea). Rounding out the top half are Chinese Taipei’s Wang Tin Wen and Yi Kai Fen.

Asia’s best will get the chance to improve on their rankings as the PPA Tour Asia continues in the coming months. Up next will be the Hong Kong Open in August and the MB Vietnam Open and a stop in Japan in September.
