WPC Asia Grand Slam Malaysia 2025: Elite Pickleball Series Enters Southeast Asia

The World Pickleball Championship (WPC) Series, to date the largest tournament series in pickleball, is set to hold its first event in Malaysia. The tournament is scheduled on 16–20 July 2025 and will take place at The Pickle Grounds, a world-class facility nestled on the rooftop of One World Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia’s first-ever WPC hosting is dubbed “WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025.” As of press time, it has already attracted over 1,000 players from more than 17 countries who will all vie for big cash prizes, bragging rights, and some hardware. The total prize pool of WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025 is RM120,000.
The WPC Series was created in 2019. In the six years since it was established, the series has grown into a major international event that picklers from all countries look forward to. So far, the series has held over 80 tournaments in over 15 countries across four continents, with over 60,000 picklers at all levels taking part in it. The WPC’s entry to pickleball-crazy Malaysia only continues the sport’s tremendous global expansion and places the Southeast Asian nation firmly at the centre of pickleball in Asia.
Working closely with the WPC Series is Pickleball Global, the leading online platform for managing pickleball tournaments and player rankings in the world. Additionally, the WPC employs a unique system that combines WPC and Global Pickleball Rankings. It accummulates data from thousands of matches to show clear and fair rankings for players.
WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025 is being fully supported by Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia aligns with the country’s “Visit Malaysia 2026” vision. Visit Malaysia 2026 aims to make the country a major sports tourism location, and with pickleball rising as one of the world’s most popular sport, bringing it to Malaysia was certainly a no-brainer to say the least.
