DUPR Teams Up With Philippine Pickleball Federation—and the Implications Go Beyond Ratings
The Philippine Pickleball Federation has a new partner—and the implications extend well beyond a ratings system.
DUPR, the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating platform and the premier global standard for player ratings in the sport, has announced a strategic partnership with the the Philippine Pickleball Federation, one of Asia’s leading national pickleball organisations and a member of the Global Pickleball Federation. The collaboration was announced on 18 June, and for the Philippines-based organisation, this partnership represents a significant step toward anchoring Filipino pickleball within the global competitive ecosystem.
The collaboration covers a broad range of areas: official player ratings and ranking integration, tournament and league development, club and grassroots activation, player pathway and competitive development initiatives, and community education. In practical terms, it means Filipino players competing in Philippine Pickleball Federation-sanctioned events will have their results tracked and rated on the same system trusted by the Professional Pickleball Association, Major League Pickleball, and the United Pickleball Association—placing them on the same competitive ladder as players in the United States, Asia, and beyond.
That last point is the one with the most far-reaching consequences for the Philippine Pickleball Federation
The federation was founded in 2019 and has spent the years since building pickleball infrastructure across the Philippines through clinics, tournaments, referee development, coaching programmes, and regional partnerships. The growth has been genuine and visible—the sport has moved from grassroots curiosity to a nationwide movement with thousands of active players. What the Philippine Pickleball Federation has lacked, until now, is a universally recognised ratings framework that connects its players to the global competitive structure in a meaningful, trackable way.
DUPR provides exactly that. Its dynamic rating system analyses match results to evaluate players on a 2.000 to 8.000 scale, cutting across age, gender, and location. A Filipino player rated on DUPR carries a number that means the same thing in Manila, Kuala Lumpur, or Los Angeles. For players looking to compete internationally, that standardisation is not a minor administrative detail—it is the difference between existing within a local bubble and being part of a global conversation.
DUPR chief executive officer Tito Machado made the strategic intent clear.
“Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing pickleball regions in the world, and the Philippines has built one of the most passionate and organised pickleball communities anywhere,” Machado said. “We’re excited to work alongside the Philippine Pickleball Federation to support players, clubs, tournaments, and the broader ecosystem with a global standard for ratings and competition.”
The partnership also reinforces the Philippine Pickleball Federation’s position within the Global Pickleball Federation framework—a worldwide effort to bring national federations together under transparent, inclusive, and internationally recognised governance. For a federation that has been active in Asian and global governance initiatives, the DUPR alignment adds another layer of credibility to its standing in those conversations.
Philippine pickleball has been growing fast. The DUPR partnership gives the Philippine Pickleball Federation the infrastructure to ensure that growth is measured, recognised, and connected to the world.
