Philippine Pickleball Federation Federation Rolls Out National Framework to Sustain Growth
With pickleball’s popularity surging nationwide, the Philippine Pickleball Federation (PPF) is moving to bring structure to the sport’s rapid rise.
The PPF—officially recognised by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC)—announced a unified national framework designed to create a clear development pathway for players and formalise competitive standards across the country.
At the heart of the initiative is the launch of the Philippine Pickleball Participant (PPP) Registry, a centralised national database for players, coaches, and officials.
“This will be the official national players registry, and it will be accessed through registry.pickleball.ph. This will provide a unified identification system for all players and allow us to properly track participation, match history, and rankings for players in the Philippines,” said PPF President Shery Anne Cu.
“This allows grassroots participation to remain accessible while supporting higher-level competition,” she added.
The federation will also roll out the country’s first official national rankings and leaderboard system, aimed at providing players with “a credible pathway” while ensuring consistency across tournaments.
Under the new system, players can earn ranking points exclusively through sanctioned tournaments and recognized international competitions.
“Players will earn ranking points only through sanctioned tournaments and recognized international competitions using a 12-month rolling system to reflect current performance,” Cu said.
“The sanctioned tournaments will allow players to earn points toward their rankings, and the 12-month rolling dashboard will reflect who the top players are in each skill category in each age group.”
Among the first major events under the new framework is the 1st Philippine Pickleball Amateur Nationals 2026, sanctioned by the PPF and co-presented by Skechers. The tournament is set for March 28 to 30 in Las Piñas.
Select winners will go on to represent the Philippines at the EPIC World Amateur Championships in Singapore from April 30 to May 3.
