PPL Cebu Open 2026: Champions Rise in Queen City of the South as Pickleball Spectacle Breaks New Ground
Think pickleball in the Philippines can’t get any bigger? Think again.
The Philippine Pickleball League’s (PPL) Cebu Open 2026 lived up to its billing as the country’s biggest pickleball spectacle yet. Staged across two weekends at the sprawling ULRAK Pickleball Hub in Minglanilla, the tournament drew more than 2,000 players, 18 courts, and over 2,200 matches, a showcase of skill, grit, and community spirit like no other the country has seen.
Singles Glory: Quang Duong and Vivienica Bejosano Take the Crowns
In the Men’s Singles Open category, Quang Duong held his nerve in a thrilling three-set final against Linh Giang Trinh, 11-5, 5-11, 11-9. His composure in the decider sealed his status as Cebu champion. Patrick Mendoza took bronze after rallying past Jun Ceasar Ian Malacaman, 9-11, 11-5, 11-1.
The women’s side was far less tense. Vivienica Bejosano dominated the final, dispatching Patricia Raymundo in straight sets, 11-2, 11-5. Noelle Nikki Camille Zoleta beat Princess Catindig, 11-8, 11-7, for bronze.
Doubles Drama, and Trinh Gets His Revenge
If Trinh missed out on singles gold, he more than made up for it in doubles. Partnering Quốc Khánh Lê, he turned the tables on Quang Duong and Bao Duong, 11-9, 11-7, to win the Men’s Doubles Open crown. Their chemistry and tactical awareness proved decisive.
The Women’s Doubles Open final went the distance. Sarah Jane Lim-Narvasa and Medelene Saraza edged Connie Lee and Pui Long Fan in a three-set thriller, 11-7, 5-11, 5-7. Fatima Ayesha Amirul and Bejosano claimed bronze with an 11-5, 11-8 win over Christy Sañosa and Catindig.
Then came Mixed Doubles Open, where Trinh struck again. Teaming up with Lee, he captured the title with a commanding 11-7, 11-8 victory over Leander Lazaro and Lim, both of whom came fresh off leading the Parañaque Titan to the first-ever Maharlika Pilipinas Pickleball Tour Invitational title. Nik Alessandro Isagan and Amirul took bronze by edging Ken Unique Dela Cruz and Raymundo in a tight three-setter, 11-8, 8-11, 11-10.
