Team Agassi Win Intense, Entertaining Pickleball Slam 3, Take Home USD $1M Prize

Four tennis superstars past and present—Andre Agassi, Stefanie Graf, Andy Roddick, and Eugenie Bouchard—headlined Pickleball Slam 3 held over the weekend at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. They were all competing for the USD $1 million cash prize in the third iteration of the event.
Agassi, an all-time legend of tennis and now pickleball ambassador, was the reigning back-to-back pickleball champion. Graf, herself a tennis legend and wife of Agassi, is a defending pickleball champion herself. Roddick, another all-timer in tennis, won the inaugural Pickleball Slam.
Notably, Agassi and Roddick famously teamed up in that inaugural Pickleball Slam to take home the cool million. Graf replaced Roddick in Pickleball Slam 2 and helped her hubby win back-to-back. Now, Roddick returned for Pickleball Slam 3 out for blood so to speak, with the aim of dethroning Team Agassi with Bouchard as his new partner.
Match 1 fittingly pitted the two tennis legends in a singles showdown that Agassi won in straight sets. Match 2 saw Graf teaming up with special guest and 2004 Olympic silver medalist Mardy Fish and Bouchard pairing up with former world No. 8 singles player John Isner. Graf and Fish won this one, nudging past Bouchard and Isner 15-14 in both sets.
While Pickleball Slam 3 was all about fun and promoting pickleball, it got intense nonetheless, with Roddick at one point getting frustrated with a call that went against him in his singles duel with Agassi. He got so frustrated he was overheard calling a pickleball rule “dumb.”
The Main Event, of course, was the mixed doubles showdown between Team Agassi (Agassi and Graf) and Team Roddick (Roddick and Bouchard).
Team Agassi took the first game, 15-9, but Team Roddick evened things up with a 15-10 victory in the second game. The decider proved to be a thrilling one, with both teams going back and fourth until Roddick and Bouchard came away with an 11-10 win to seal the match and send Pickleball Slam 3 to a tiebreaker.
The tiebreaker saw Agassi teaming up with Fish and Roddick pairing up with Isner, with players switching out every four points in a single game to 11 points. Agassi ultimately secured for his team the championship by scoring the deciding point. With the win, Team Agassi are now a the three-time reigning Pickleball Slam champs.
