University of Education Practice High School in Vietnam Opens New Sports Facility with Pickleball Court

In case you haven’t been informed, pickleball is a thing, too, in Vietnam.

The host of the recently concluded 2025 World Pickleball Championship and Hoiana WPC Finals, has a thriving pickleball landscape like its neighbours in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and the Philippines.

Pickleball is growing so exponentially in Vietnam that even school are recognising the impact of this growing sport all around the country. Perhaps cognisant of pickleball’s immense rise and still untapped potential, the University of Education Practice High School has now gotten into the act so to speak.

The prestigious high school in Ho Chi Minh City recently opened the M Sports Court, a high-quality multisport facility where the school’s students and teachers can play different sports, including pickleball. Aside from a basketball court, M Sports Court also boasts pickleball areas for the university’s pickleball enthusiasts.

“Pickleball is taking the world by storm, and our students should have the chance to learn and play right here at school. We hope both students and teachers will make the most of this facility for training and development,” said Nguyen Thi Tu, Principal of the University of Education Practice High School.

M Sports Court: For Pickleball and Other Sports

Tu clarified that M Sports Court is designed for various sports, particularly basketball, volleyball, badminton, and pickleball. He also said that pickleball will be the first sport introduced to students on the newly opened facility.

Over the weekend, the university hosted the first major event at M Sports Court: a multisport competition for teachers and staff from 11 high schools in Ho Chi Minh. The sports included were badminton and pickleball, while fun games like group jump rope and sack races were held as well.

The teachers who participated in the daylong event hope that more high schools will introduce dedicated pickleball courts so as to give students and teachers alike more avenues to stay active and play competitively.

So far, a few other schools aside from the University of Education Practice High School have introduced high-performance courts. Some of them are Mac Dinh Chi High School in District 6, Hung Vuong High School in District 5, and the High School for Gifted Students under the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City.

With schools now actively getting involved in pickleball, expect the sport to grow even more in Vietnam. And don’t be surprised if the country’s next Quang Duong comes from one of these schools.
