Quartet of Picklers in US Sets World Record for Marathon Pickleball in Support of Noble Cause

Think you can play pickleball for more than 36 hours?

If so, you might be next in line to reset the longest pickleball match ever as officially documented by the Guinness Book of World Record.

The new Guinness World Record for longest marathon playing pickleball was recently set by four picklers led by Geneva Olson, who played pickleball nonstop for 36 hourss. The record-setting match was played at Pickler Universe in Carrollton, Texas

“They’re tired. It’s been a long night,” said Mark Olson, Geneva’s wife. “I’m supporting my wife and the crew that’s trying to set the Guinness World Record for the longest pickleball marathon.”

Geneva and company began playing at 6 a.m. on 13 April 2025 and finished at 6 p.m. on 14 April 2025 (both US time). They beat the previous record of 34 hours, 5 minutes set by four picklers in the UK.

A Pickleball Marathon for a Noble Cause

The marathon, though, wasn’t all about resetting the world record. It was more about raising money for a good cause: to support Taylor’s Gift Foundation, a nonprofit that supports organ and tissue donation and mental health.

“It’s a great cause. We have Taylor’s Gift for organ donation and families that donate organs of loved ones that have passed. They provide support to those families, as well as mental health and suicide, which is close to my wife’s heart,” Mark said.

In all, the event raised $18,000 for Taylor’s Gift Foundation—or $36 for every hour of pickleball action.

Event producer Colby Logan documented the record-setting pickleball marathon, whom he says brought people together.

“It always sounds crazy,” Logan said. “It’s unrealistic to do what they’re talking about, but that’s why they it’s a world record. When you do something like that, it brings people together.”

Training for History

According to Mark, his wife trained extra hard to make sure she’d be able to complete her ambitious goal.

“We’ve got four daughters, and she wants to prove to her daughters that she can do anything, and they can do anything they put their mind to,” Mark said. “She’s been the kind of person that if there’s something she wants to do, she puts her mind to it and gets it done.”

Geneva and three other picklers put their minds into setting a pickleball record. And now they have done it.
