StarDream Cruises Repurposes Basketball Courts, Now Offers ‘Perfect’ Sport Onboard Two Ships

A grand cruise with some pickleball action onboard a world-class cruise ship? Where do we sign up?
If you have the budget and playing pickleball on a relaxing cruise at sea entices you, then better check out StarDream Cruises’ latest offerings. The Asia-based cruise line operated by Resorts World Cruises offers guests the chance to play pickleball onboard two of the company’s cruise ships: Genting Dream and Star Navigator.
This was made possible when StarDream Cruises repurposed the onboard basketball courts on both ships into pickleball courts. After the repurposing, Genting Dream now has two full pickleball courts, while Star Navigator has one.
“Pickleball is easy to learn, exciting to play, and fun for all ages—perfect for families, friends, and first-time cruisers looking to try something new,” said Michael Goh, President at StarDream Cruises, on the decision to start offering pickleball onboard two of its ships.
Guests can now have a pickleball-centred cruise aboard the Genting Dream. They can choose between a two-night cruise between Singapore and Melaka or a three-night itinerary to Penang and Phuket for shorter getaways. Alternatively, they can book a longer, more special five-night cruise to Bali, although this offering will begin only on 30 November 2025.
Guests can also opt to book a cruise in Star Navigator, which will be offering longer, more elaborate itineraries across Asia starting 26 September 2025. From its usual departure point of Keelung, Star Navigator will showcase roundtrip sailings to Japan’s Okinawa and Kyushu, as well as Jeju and Busan in South Korea.
But wait, there’s more!
From 16 November 2025 to 30 January 2026, Star Navigator will also homeport in Kaohsiung and offer two-night and five-night cruises to Okinawa in Japan, the Philippines (Laoag, Coron, Boracay, and Puerto Princesa), and Vietnam (Ha Long Bay and Da Nang).
Whether a shorter trip or a longer cruise, anyone who books a getaway with StarDream Cruises is sure to have a great, grand time onboard either Genting Dream or Star Navigator. That they now have pickleball courts is the proverbial cherry on top of the sundae.
