Popular PH Food Chain Serves Up Success, Great Food with Inaugural RACKS Pickleball Cup

RACKS, a popular American-style casual dining restaurant chain in the Philippines, successfully held the inaugural RACKS Pickleball Cup on 11 and 12 October 2025 in Tiendesitas, Pasig City, Philippines.

A total of 144 players across 72 teams competed in the tournament, held in partnership with Pinnacle PH, Momentum PH, Franklin, PSI Sports Inc., and Chronos Athletics. The winners in each division received trophies and medals, along with a few other incentives:

Intermediate

  • Champions: ₱25,000 cash + ₱5,000 worth of RACKS gift certificates
  • Second Place: ₱20,000 cash + ₱3,000 worth of RACKS gift certificates
  • Third Place: ₱15,000 cash + ₱2,000 worth of RACKS gift certificates

Novice

  • Champions: ₱15,000 cash + ₱5,000 worth of RACKS gift certificates
  • Second Place: ₱12,000 cash + ₱3,000 worth of RACKS gift certificates
  • Third Place: ₱10,000 cash + ₱2,000 worth of RACKS gift certificates

“Pickleball’s popularity has exploded, and we thought that the people who dine with us also love pickleball,” said Leopoldo “Chukri” Prieto III, Managing Director of RACKS. “Our RACKS Pickleball Cup also allowed us to collaborate with our customers and create a community with them. And after the competitive tournament, they also enjoyed RACKS comfort food.”

Intermediate (28+)

  • Champions: Devon Minor and Cyril Recto
  • Second Place: Mikko Malona and JC Riel
  • Third Place: Ed Jamolod and Joria Cornelia

Novice (22+)

  • Champions: Queenie Ann Marie de los Reyes and Luis Napoles
  • Second Place: Laarnie Luna and Randolf Olyvar
  • Third Place: Pamela and Shawn Lee Yap

After successful staging the first-ever RACKS Pickleball Cup, Prieto said that customers and supporters can look forward to more thrilling sports action next year as the popular food chain hopes to continue the momentum from this tournament and maybe even introduce other sports.

“Being part of a sporting community was something that I personally wanted, and now that we have entered this venture, this opened our eyes to other sports,” he said. “Collaborating with sports is a good avenue for us to take, so we’re definitely looking at adding more sports in the future.”

For a pickleball- and sports-crazed country, that’s certainly some great news.
