Philippine Pickleball Federation Extends Registration for Referee Training

The Philippine Pickleball Federation (PPF) is offering a referee training for individuals looking to become a certified pickleball referee. The PPF’s referee training will be held from 4 to 5 December 2025 at Pickletown in Davao City. Those interested can still register as the federation has extended the registration deadline to 30 November 2025.

This PPF-sponsored training, which will be presided by certified referee Gigi Maceda, is perfect for individuals who want to:

  • Understand pickleball rules at a deeper level.
  • Make confident, accurate calls during matches.
  • Support club events and official tournaments.
  • Take on a bigger role in the growing pickleball community.
  • Become part of Mindanao’s pool of certified referees (and possibly beyond).

Individuals who will pass the training will learn real-court mechanics, rule interpretation, and how to manage games fairly and consistently. These, of course, are skills that make referees valuable assets to any club or tournament, whether locally or internationally.

Registration Details: Who Can Join, How Much, and Where to Register

The PPF referee training this December is exclusive to members of clubs affiliated with the federation only. Those interested will need to complete a pre-test before registering for the actual training, which costs ₱5,000 per participant.

If interested, you can follow these steps for the pre-test:

  1. Study the 2025 USA Pickleball Rulebook, which you can access here: https://bit.ly/usapickleball-rules
  2. Take the Official Rules Pre-Test here: https://testing.usapickleball.org/rules-test/

To qualify for the PPF referee training, interested participants must score at least 90%. Those who do must take a screenshot of their test result and then register at https://forms.gle/6yvC29Xbv8ca69BP8.
