Converge Wraps Up North Luzon Power of X Pickleball Cup, Heads to Mindanao Next
The Power of X Pickleball Cup has completed its North Luzon run—and pickleball in the region is better for it.
Powered by Converge FiberX, the tournament made stops in Baguio, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga throughout May 2026, bringing competitive court action, community energy, and the fast-rising paddle sport to audiences across Northern and Central Luzon. The Pampanga leg closed out the regional run with a flourish—intense rallies on the court and celebrity appearances off it, with Diana Zubiri, Andy Smith, Eric Fructuoso, and dance group The Manoeuvres drawing energy from both players and spectators alike.
The initiative is built around Converge FiberX’s “Live to the #PowerOfX” campaign—a play on the idea that the same speed and reliability that defines fiber internet can fuel active, community-driven experiences on the ground. Redge Cawatig, Converge FiberX Regional Trade Marketing Manager, said sports and community engagement sit at the heart of what the company is trying to build beyond its broadband business. Ai Aniceto, CEO of Kassa Media, called the tournament a milestone for the sport’s growth in the region.
It is easy to see why. Four cities, one month, a growing pool of players and fans at every stop—the North Luzon leg demonstrated that pickleball’s reach in the Philippines is no longer limited to Metro Manila courts and weekend hobbyists. The sport is traveling, and the interest is following.
The next stop is Mindanao.
Organisers confirmed that the Power of X Pickleball Cup will continue with a Mindanao leg following the successful Northern run—extending what has become one of the more visible grassroots pickleball initiatives in the country. Converge, which positions itself as a digital lifestyle enabler, is using the tournament series to tie its brand to the kind of active, real-world community experiences that fiber internet alone cannot deliver.
