OCBC-Great Eastern Pickleball Open Registration Kicks Off With SGD $100,000 Prize Pool

Pickleball is about to take centre stage in Singapore again as registration for the inaugural OCBC-Great Eastern Pickleball Open is now officially open. The grand tournament is a three-day competition set for 23 to 25 October 2026 at the OCBC Arena in Kallang. With more than SGD $100,000 in prizes on offer, organisers are expecting close to 1,600 players across four categories: Novice, Open, the Bank of Singapore Corporate Challenge, and the invite-only Bank of Singapore Invitational Championship.

Teams will compete exclusively in doubles, with any gender combination allowed—two men, two women, or a mixed pair. Early-bird entry fees are pegged at S$132 per team until 31 August, rising to S$148 from 1 September until registration closes on 5 October, or once slots are filled.

The format is straightforward. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockouts. Matches up to the semi-finals are played to 21 points in a single set. The third-place play-off and final switch to a best-of-three format, with each set played to 15 points. Rally scoring applies throughout.

Ahead of the October showcase, OCBC has already rolled out the OCBC-Great Eastern Pickleball Series, a set of weekend workshops designed to introduce the sport to new players. Adult sessions are fully subscribed, while youth and multi-generation workshops have drawn strong interest.

Beyond competition, the initiative carries a social purpose. OCBC has entered a two-year partnership with Care Corner Seniors Services, giving 100 seniors the chance to learn pickleball. Each year, 50 participants will undergo a four-month programme with 10 training sessions at the National Stadium’s Great Eastern Promenade. This year’s batch began on 7 July and will culminate in a sports day on 11 November, where selected seniors will showcase their skills.

It’s a blend of sport and community—competitive pickleball at one end, active ageing at the other. And with the October tournament looming, Singapore’s courts are about to get busier than ever.
