RPO APAC Hosts Three-Stop Level 1 Coach Certification Tour in PH as Sport Continues to Boom
Pickleball in the Philippines is entering a new chapter. Courts are sprouting up, tournaments are drawing crowds, and participation is climbing. But the real test of sustainability lies in coaching—and that’s precisely where RacketPro (RPO) APAC is making its mark.
Founded to raise coaching standards worldwide, RPO has already certified more than 1,500 coaches across 22 countries. Its philosophy is simple: great players begin with great coaches. Through structured education, professional development, and partnerships with federations and facilities, RPO has become a global leader in coach training. Now, with its Level 1 Coach Certification Tour, the organisation is bringing that expertise directly to Manila, Cebu, and Davao.
From 29 July to 2 August, Filipino coaches will have the chance to earn internationally recognised credentials through a blended programme of online coursework, assessments, and intensive on-court instruction. More than 100 coaches are expected to be certified, strengthening the country’s coaching ecosystem and ensuring that pickleball’s rapid growth is matched by quality instruction.

The tour is led by Collin Johns—one of the sport’s most accomplished professionals and RPO’s Technical Director—alongside Connor Nguyen, Managing Director of RPO APAC, and veteran coach Derek Sawer. Together, they will guide participants through a curriculum that blends elite competitive experience with practical coaching methodology. Coaches will learn player assessment, lesson planning, communication strategies, and effective instruction, all while laying the groundwork for long-term professional development.
As Connor Nguyen noted, the Philippines is one of Asia’s most exciting pickleball markets. Enthusiasm is already high, but the next step is to build a coaching infrastructure that can nurture players, clubs, and communities.
