Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026: Meet the Top Seeds

The seeds are out, the stars are coming, and Hong Kong is about to host the biggest week in PPA Tour Asia’s calendar.

The Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026 runs 19 to 25 October at Kai Tak Arena and closes the season as the tour’s first PPA Asia 1500 event, which means 1,500 ranking points for every champion. With the lineup now official, every draw looks stacked.

Men’s Singles: Haworth Leads the Pack on His Asia Debut

World Singles No. 1 Christopher Haworth is the top seed in his first trip to Asia. Federico Staksrud is second and Hunter Johnson third, while Christian Alshon, the Panas Malaysia Cup 2025 singles champion, sits fourth, ahead of Connor Garnett and Tama Shimabukuro.

The local favourite is seventh seed Jack Wong Hong-kit, who won the singles title at last year’s Hong Kong Open. Eighth seed Noe Khlif, meanwhile, took silver in singles in his Asia debut at the Leapmotor Kuala Lumpur Cup last month.

Women’s Singles: Christian Is Perfect in Asia, but the Field Is Deep

Kaitlyn Christian is the No. 1 seed and is two for two in Asian singles this year, with titles at the MB Hanoi Cup and in Kuala Lumpur. World No. 6 Chao Yi Wang is second, while Sahra Dennehy, fresh off three semifinal runs in Kuala Lumpur, is third. An in-form Kiora Kunimoto is fourth, with Judit Castillo, Yufei Long, Rika Fujiwara, and Andie Dikosavljevic rounding out the top eight.

Six of those seeds already own an Asian singles title, so expect the fight for the top step of the podium to be fierce.

Doubles: Familiar Partners, Fresh Pairings

In men’s doubles, Ben Johns and Gabriel Tardio are the top seeds after winning gold together in Hanoi, with Tardio also taking two titles in Kuala Lumpur. Hayden Patriquin and Staksrud are second. Yuta Funemizu and Alshon, a first-time partnership, are third, and Shimabukuro and JW Johnson, playing their first international event as a team, are fourth. Collin Johns and Len Yang, who lead this year’s men’s doubles medal count, are seeded eighth.

On the women’s side, Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright are the top seeds after their Hanoi gold. Jorja Johnson and Tyra Hurricane Black are second, and Asia debutantes Parris Todd and Rachel Rohrabacher are third. Hong Kong’s best hope is local hero Nok Yiu Tang, who teams up with Wang as the No. 7 seeds.

Mixed Doubles: Waters and Johns Return

The two World No. 1s, Waters and Ben Johns, are paired again in mixed doubles, in their first trip back to Asia since April. Both are also top seeds in their gender doubles draws, so it’s a busy week.

Standing in their way are the siblings Jorja and JW Johnson, the No. 3 seeds, who beat Waters and Johns in the semifinals of the recent Veolia Pickleball National Championships. Bright and Patriquin are second, hoping to improve on their fourth-place finish in Hanoi, and Todd and Alshon are fourth.
