Malaysia Set to Make More Pickleball History with APP Kuala Lumpur Open 2026
Pickleball hotbed Malaysia will be welcoming the APP Tour to Asia by hosting the Kuala Lumpur Open 2026 from 9 to 14 February 2026 at the PLAYA Racquet Club, PARC Subang, in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia had previously hosted the first PPA Tour Asia event—the Panas Malaysia Cup 2025—back in September. It was a landmark moment for the PPA, whose September event was their first time bringing the PPA brand to the world’s largest continent. In February, it will be the APP’s (Association of Pickleball Players) turn, with Malaysia getting the honour again of being the first host. It was chosen by the APP because of it is a premier destination for sports and travel and “serves as a gateway for athletes and enthusiasts across Southeast Asia.”

The Kuala Lumpur Open 2026 will offer up a prize purse of USD $50,000 and is set to become the first official tournament of the APP in Asia. The APP, of course, is a rival of the PPA Tour and boasts some of the world’s top pickleball pros, including Jack Munro, Sofia Sewing, and Megan Fudge, who was recently named Female MVP in the just-concluded Indian Pickleball League.
