Team USA Nabs 2025 Pickleball World Cup Championship with 4-0 Sweep of Hong Kong
The 2025 Pickleball World Cup is officially in the books, and it will say that Team USA won the championship.
Made up of Eli Bertram (Boca Raton, Fla.), Jayden Broderick (Greenville, S.C.), Ronan Camron (Fort Myers, Fla.), Ava Cavataio (West Palm Beach, Fla.), Lauren Mercado (Las Vegas, Nev.), and Bella Nelson (Deerfield Beach, Fla.), Team USA capped off a command performance in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a 4-0 drubbing of Team Hong Kong, who surprised quite a lot of people by making it all the way to the finals.
Team Hong Kong’s Cinderella run, however, struck midnight in the hands of Team USA, who showcased peerless talent, unmatched energy, and unrivalled precision in their dominant romp of their Asian rivals. The finals were played at The Fort, a new pickleball complex in Snyder Park near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Fort Lauderdale Becomes Epicentre of Global Pickleball with 2025 Pickleball World Cup
Starting 27 October 2025 up until 2 November 2025, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was the centre of pickleball action as the 2025 Pickleball World Cup, organised by the Cabieses Foundation, took place.
In all, nearly 2,500 pickleball players from 68 countries flew to Florida for one exciting week of high-level pickleball. Among the countries represented in the prestigious tournament, aside from the USA and Hong Kong, were Peru and Argentina from South America, India and Malaysia from Asia, Spain from Europe, and Australia from the Oceania region.
“It’s a fun sport that can be played by people of all ages and that keeps growing year after year,” said Hercuilio Cabieses in an interview with Marca. Cabieses, who is part of the Cabieses Foundation, is also the Tournament Director of the Pickleball World Cup.
The 2025 Pickleball World Cup is expected to generate about USD $8 million in revenue for Fort Lauderdale, according to estimates from Visit Lauderdale.
