Quang Duong Takes Talents to APP Tour in Homecoming
Quang Duong, Asia’s No. 1 rated player per DUPR rankings, is officially no longer a free agent. This comes after the Vietnamese superstar signed a pro contract with the APP Tour.
The APP Tour announced Quang Duong’s signing on its official social media pages, where he is described as “Asia’s top player.” On its website, the APP Tour calls Duong “one of the most electric players in international pickleball.”
Just 20 years old, the Hanoi native brings immense star power to the APP Tour, which is currently in a battle with the PPA Tour for pro circuit prominence and superiority.
A Homecoming for Quang Duong
The signing is actually a homecoming for Quang Duong, who broke into the pickleball scene in 2023, competing in the APP Tour early that year. His most notable performance during this period was at the 2023 APP Houston Open, where he had a massive run in Men’s Singles, defeating top players like Christopher Haworth and Jaume Martinez Vich to reach the finals.
Duong later jumped ship to the PPA Tour, doing so in the latter part of 2023. He added to his legend by continuing his meteoric rise to stardom, which he punctuated with a gold medal in Men’s Doubles (with Christian Alshon) at the Bristol Open in August 2024. He climbed as high as No. 6 in Men’s Singles in the PPA Tour.
However, Quang Duong’s PPA Tour career ended abruptly after the latter terminated the former’s contract in early 2025 due to contractual violations. He remained unsigned for the rest of 2025 before coming back to the APP Tour this March.
