Tennis icon Andre Agassi is set to take centre stage in Kuala Lumpur next month, headlining a high-profile pickleball showcase that will culminate in a record-breaking match atop Merdeka 118.
The eight-time Grand Slam champion will lead the JOOLA Titans Tour 2026 on April 7 and 8, in what shapes up to be one of Malaysia’s biggest pickleball events to date. As the sport continues to surge across Asia, organisers are positioning the two-day spectacle as both a celebration and a statement of intent.
The programme features exhibition matches, fan engagement activities, and a festival-style atmosphere, with the headline attraction being a historic match staged at Merdeka 118—set to become the highest pickleball game ever played in the country.
Agassi will be joined by Ben Johns, the current world No. 1 across all three divisions. Johns brings with him an extraordinary résumé, including more than 190 gold medals and the most Triple Crown titles in professional pickleball history. Also in the line-up are top international names such as Anna Bright, Federico Staksrud, and Tyson McGuffin.
The Kuala Lumpur leg will also showcase talent from across the region. Players such as Andie Dikosavljevic, Ken Tam, and Japan’s Kenta Miyoshi and Aiko Yoshitomi are set to feature, highlighting the sport’s growing depth in Asia-Pacific.
Action begins at Stadium Juara, where exhibition matches will set the tone before the event shifts to Merdeka 118 for the marquee clash—Team Agassi against Team Ben Johns.
On the evening of 7 April, the spectacle extends beyond the court. From 8:30 p.m., the city skyline will come alive with a coordinated display of lights, drones, and pyrotechnics around the tower, underscoring pickleball’s rapid rise.
The focus then turns to development on 8 April, with players taking part in grassroots initiatives across the Klang Valley. These include free coaching clinics and meet-and-greet sessions aimed at nurturing the local scene.
