Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026: Ticket Launch Nears as Kai Tak Arena Prepares for Landmark Hosting
Hong Kong is bracing itself for one of the biggest sporting spectacles of the year. The Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026, part of the PPA Tour Asia, will take over Kai Tak Arena from 19 to 25 October, bringing together elite pickleball talent from across the globe.
Organised by F‑Sports Promotions Limited, with Hang Seng Bank as title sponsor and the Hong Kong, China Tennis Association lending its support, the event has already captured the imagination of fans. Registration for both professional and amateur divisions closed within two weeks, with more than 860 players signing up—a clear sign of the sport’s surging popularity across Asia.
Contenders, Tickets, and Fan Experience
Tickets officially go on sale to the public via HK Ticketing on 10 September at 9:00 a.m. Hang Seng Visa Credit Card holders will enjoy priority booking from 4 to 9 September. Beyond the matches themselves, organisers are setting up a Fan Zone with free admission, interactive booths, and official merchandise, ensuring the atmosphere extends well beyond the courts.
Kai Tak Arena will be transformed into 24 international‑standard pickleball courts, hosting some of the sport’s biggest names. Among them is Hong Kong’s own Hong Kit Wong, who has enjoyed a stellar season with 5 gold, 5 silver, and 13 bronze medals across various events. Having won men’s singles gold and men’s doubles silver at last year’s Hong Kong stop, Wong is determined to defend his crown in front of a home crowd.
“Winning gold last year with the support of the fans was unforgettable,” Wong said. “This time, I’ll be giving everything to deliver another thrilling performance.”
A Landmark for Pickleball in Asia
Feng Huanhuan, President of F‑Sports Promotions, highlighted the rapid growth of pickleball in Hong Kong, noting its spread across communities, schools, and parks. “The overwhelming response proves the sport’s powerful appeal,” she said, promising a world‑class spectacle for fans.
Hang Seng Bank’s Chief Executive, Luanne Lim, echoed that sentiment, emphasising the bank’s commitment to supporting local sport and cultural events. “Bringing Asia’s first PPA 1500 to Hong Kong strengthens the city’s position as the region’s events capital,” she remarked.
With a prize purse of USD $1.1 million (around HK$8.58 million) and 1,500 ranking points on offer, the Hong Kong Slam will be the richest pickleball tournament ever staged in Asia. The winners will also claim the season’s crowning trophy—the roaring dragon head—reserved exclusively for this final stop of the tour.
Closing Out a Sensational Season
The Hong Kong Slam marks the tenth and final stop of the 2026 PPA Tour Asia, which has travelled across the continent showcasing the sport’s growth. With Slams, Cups, and Opens forming the tour’s structure, players have battled for points all year, building towards this climactic finale.
For Hong Kong, the event is more than just a tournament. It is a statement of intent, positioning the city as a hub for emerging racquet sports and cementing pickleball’s place in Asia’s sporting landscape.
