Wika Pickleball underscored its sponsorship of the No. 1 DUPR-rated male pickleball player in Asia, Quang Duong, with the recent release of two Avatar-inspired paddle models: Wika QD Air and Wika QD Fire.
Wika QD Air
The Wika QD Air boasts a Carbon Gen 5 X100 textured face for easy spin generation, long-lasting grit, and a premium fibreglass-reinforced inner layer. It also features an AIRFOAM™ core for superior durability and the complete elimination of core crush. Additionally, it sports a dense “pyramid” structure concentrated at the sweet spot and tapering towards the edges to significantly increase swing speed. Finally, its foam is extended into the handle for a larger sweet spot and reduced vibration. With these features, the Wika QD Fire ensures high ball acceleration with fast, penetrating shots.
Wika QD Fire
The Wika QD Fire, on the other hand, boasts a Gen 6 Carbon X911 textured face for easier spin generation and over 40% longer-lasting grit for consistent performance. It also has a FIRECORE™ power core to ensure a big pop with reliable control. In addition, its structure minimises honeycomb core imprint on the paddle face while featuring an anti-torsion Titan frame and EVA vibration dampening. The result is a solid feel, ultimate stability in fast-paced rallies, and an exciting, explosive sound on every contact.
As of this writing, however, both the Wika QD Air and the Wika QD Fire are not yet included on USA Pickleball’s approved list of pickleball paddles. But it should be noted that Wika already has four models on the list, so certification for the Quang Duong models is a distinct possibility.
