Arjun, Aditya Singh Make Waves in US Open Pickleball Championship 2026 as India Continues Rise
The Singh brothers are doing it again.
Arjun Singh and Aditya Singh claimed gold in the men’s doubles 5.0 category at the US Open Pickleball Championship 2026, defeating J. Meode and W. Lin 9-11, 11-2, 11-7 in the final to continue what has become one of India’s most compelling stories in international pickleball. They dropped the opening game, then won 11 of the next 13 in a dominant reversal that left no doubt.
For Arjun, it is his third US Open gold medal and his second won alongside his brother. For both of them, it means something that goes beyond the trophy.
“Winning another gold at the US Open is very rewarding, and to do it together once again makes it extra special,” the Singh brothers said. “We will continue to work hard to repeat these results with the support of our family and everyone around us. This would not have been possible without the Maharashtra Pickleball Association and the Indian Pickleball Association.”
Panth Thakkar and Atharva Sheth added silver in the men’s doubles 4.5 category, going down fighting against Caian Appel and Michael Van Dusen 8-11, 9-11 in a closely contested final. The result stings, but it also speaks to how consistently India has been competing at the business end of draws throughout the week.
The championship, being held in Naples, marks India’s first participation under the banner of the Indian Pickleball Association—and the contingent has delivered. India’s medal tally at the 2026 US Open now stands at 6: 4 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. The golds have been claimed by Arjun Singh in singles, the Arjun-Aditya pairing in doubles, and Dhiren Patel. The silver belongs to Thakkar and Sheth, while Naga Moksha secured the bronze.
IPA president Suryaveer Singh Bhullar did not undersell what the week has meant.
“Every day at the US Open is an opportunity for Indian pickleball to showcase its talent and cement its place on the global stage,” Bhullar said. “The contingent has risen to the challenge. This is India’s fourth gold medal and sixth overall medal at the tournament.”
Six medals. Four golds. First time competing under the IPA.
