DUPR, the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating system, has announced an expanded collaboration with Save My Play, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered camera technology into clubs and facilities worldwide. The partnership removes what has historically been one of the biggest friction points in player ratings: getting match footage recorded, analysed, and submitted in the first place.
Through the integration, facilities equipped with Save My Play cameras can offer players a fully automated experience from the moment they step on court to the moment their rating is updated—no app download required, no account setup before play, no manual submission. Players start recording within seconds using gesture-based controls. The system handles the rest.
The hardware itself is designed for practicality at scale. Compact, lightweight, and serverless, the cameras can be installed quickly across multiple courts, capturing high-quality HD footage while automatically removing downtime between points and generating match highlights. For clubs and tournament operators, the platform also enables live streaming with built-in production tools—score overlays, sponsor branding, and multi-court coverage—creating new revenue pathways through content and sponsorships alongside the rating functionality.
What Happens Next Is Where the Magic Truly Starts
The real substance of the partnership sits in what happens after recording. Matches feed directly into PB Vision and DUPR’s AI analysis engine, which evaluates performance across shot quality, movement, positioning, and consistency. That data then informs AI-assisted DUPR ratings—giving players a faster, more accessible path into the system while preserving the integrity of results-based progression over time.
DUPR CEO Tito Machado framed the expansion around access. “Making it easier for players to enter and engage with the DUPR ecosystem is a core focus for us,” he said. “By combining frictionless video capture with AI-driven analysis, this integration removes barriers for players and facilities while expanding access to data-backed ratings.”
Save My Play co-founder David Fox put the goal in similarly direct terms. “Our goal is to make high-quality video and analytics accessible to every pickleball court,” he said. “By integrating directly with PB Vision and DUPR, we’re giving players immediate value from every match they play, while helping clubs unlock new ways to engage their communities and grow the game.”
The broader implication is straightforward. The more courts adopt connected camera technology, the larger the pool of recorded and analysed matches—and the stronger the data foundation behind both player development and rating accuracy.
