Eight Teams to Compete in PCL Philippines Season 2 for Chance to Defend PCL Asia Crown
The Philippines is the reigning champion of the Pickleball Champions League (PCL) Asia, having won the inaugural tournament in August with a convincing victory over Vietnam.
Three months later, the defending champs will already start looking for a team to defend that title, fittingly through a high-level tournament featuring eight elite Filipino teams. The two-day tournament, to be co-organised by PCL Asia and Toby’s Sports, will be held on 15–16 November 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia.
This tournament, PCL Philippines, is the national leg of PCL Asia and will serve as the qualifier for the big show—PCL Asia Season 2. The eight teams, each composed of the Philippines’ top-ranked pickleball players, will vie for the chance to represent the country at the PCL Asia Finals in Shenzhen, China, and the USD $5,000 travel grant that comes with that distinction.

According to the organisers, the eight teams that will compete in PCL Philippines have already committed, but the actual line-ups are still being finalised. Even so, fans can expect an even playing field as the organisers have put in place rules that will discourage the forming of super teams where top-level players join forces in one squad.
“Every region that we’re participating in, all 32 of them, they have to come up with a list of their top players, male and female, and no team is allowed to have more than one player from that list in the male and female list. So we’re trying to make sure that the teams are well balanced at the sectional level, because that makes it a lot more fun for all those teams to compete and have a chance to win,” PCL Chairman Steve Kuhn explained during a press conference announcing PCL Philippines.
Fatima Amirul and Nik Isagan, who formed part of the Philippines’ championship-winning team in Season 1, are already looking forward to the competition and are working harder than ever to earn a shot at defending the crown.
More details about PCL Philippines will be announced soon.
