IPBL Update: Indian Pickleball League Announces Six Franchises for Inaugural Season

The Indian Pickleball League (IPBL) has announced all six franchises for its inaugural season set to take place from 1 to 7 December 2025 at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi.

The IPBL announced the following franchises on Tuesday in a grand launch ttended by Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu: M3M Gurugram, Nazara Mumbai, Bengaluru Blasters, Chennai Super Warriors, and Hyderabad Royals. The league then announced the Lucknow Leopards as the tournament’s sixth team in a separate event.

Launched by The Times Group, the IPBL is sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It will be a city-vs.-city competition that will feature most of India’s top pickleball players, and some international picklers as well.

“These teams represent the scale, ambition, and reach that define the Indian Pickleball League,” said Vineet Jain, Managing Director of The Times Group. “Together, they bring a fresh competitive spirit that will help make pickleball a modern fixture in India’s sporting landscape.”

The six teams will compete in a round-robin before going into the knockout-stage playoffs that will determine the teams playing in the grand finale. IPBL action promises to be dynamic, fast-paced, and thrilling, showcasing the best pickleball talent of India, and giving fans a showcase they will surely enjoy.

According to The Times Group and the rest of the IPBL’s organisers, this inaugural tournament is aiming to expand pickleball with the help of each franchise, who will de facto be tasked to become ambassadors of the sport and bring it closer to communities.
