JOOLA has had a busy fortnight on the product front, launching two paddle lines aimed at opposite ends of the performance spectrum. First came the Pro V collection, built for players who thrive under pressure and want precision when the point gets tight. Then came Power FX, a foam-built paddle designed to hand effortless power to players of every level, not just those competing at the sharp end of the sport.
JOOLA Pro V: Precision When It Matters Most
JOOLA’s Pro V range, the spiritual successor to the Pro IV series, is built around a fairly simple idea—the biggest points in a match don’t just demand raw force, they demand a paddle that stays responsive across the drive, the counter, the speed-up, and the finish. That responsiveness comes courtesy of what JOOLA calls KineticFrame technology, an approach borrowed conceptually from kick-point engineering in hockey sticks and golf clubs. The frame is built to flex and recover through impact, helping the paddle face stay true as energy transfers into the ball, which in practice should translate into more predictable placement and a more repeatable response, particularly during fast net exchanges.
Rather than offering one shape for every style of play, JOOLA has spread the Pro V line across six distinct paddle profiles. The Perseus Pro V favours an elongated, centred design built for extended reach without sacrificing power. The Kosmos Pro V takes a hybrid approach, aiming to move smoothly between baseline drives and controlled net play. The Scorpeus Pro V goes wide and fast, built to forgive through blocks, resets, and counters. The Hyperion Pro V leans aerodynamic and elongated, suited to players who need quick reactions and aggressive court coverage. The Agassi Pro V pairs an elongated shape with an enlarged sweet spot, aimed at confident drives paired with well-timed touch. Rounding out the range, the Graf Pro V is pitched as a composed, all-court option for players who want responsiveness without leaning too heavily into any single style.
Each shape is available in either 14mm or 16mm builds, bar the Graf Pro V, which comes exclusively in 16mm.
Power FX: Effortless Power, Built on Request
Where Pro V is aimed at players chasing precision, JOOLA’s second launch takes a different route entirely. POWER FX marks the brand’s first paddle built using foam construction, layered onto JOOLA’s existing patented Propulsion Core technology. The 16mm paddle is engineered specifically to deliver power with minimal effort behind the swing, aimed at giving players of every skill level more freedom to play their own game rather than working harder for the same result.
Gordon Kaye, JOOLA’s Chief Experience Officer, framed the launch as a direct response to what the brand’s own community had been asking for. “With POWER FX we are bringing JOOLA’s advanced engineering, applied to the material many players have been asking for because we believe everyone deserves power,” Kaye said. “This doesn’t change our commitment to pushing pro-level performance forward—it’s about making sure that same standard reaches every player, not just professionals on tour.”
The foam direction itself isn’t a sudden pivot for JOOLA, according to Austin Kim, the brand’s Director of Product. “We’ve been building with foam for years, through multiple generations of paddle construction, so this wasn’t us trying something new,” Kim said. “Each iteration taught us something about the positive performance characteristics and potential drawbacks of foam. POWER FX is the first one where both power and the feel showed up in the same paddle.”
POWER FX launches in a single colourway, Daydream, a green and teal finish, and will retail at $179.95 when it hits shelves nationwide on 30 September.
Two Paddles, Two Very Different Players
Taken together, the two launches say something about where JOOLA sees the sport heading—precision engineering for competitive players chasing an edge in tight points, and accessible, effortless power for the much wider base of players simply looking to enjoy their game more. Whether either paddle becomes a genuine favourite on court will come down to feel in hand, but on paper at least, JOOLA has covered a fair amount of ground with these two releases alone.
