Pickleball’s rapid rise across Asia has taken another decisive step, with Malaysia positioning itself as a central hub for coaching and development following the completion of the RacketPro Organisation’s (RPO) APAC Pickleball Tour 2026.
The five‑stop nationwide series combined elite competition clinics with grassroots workshops, reflecting RPO’s ambition to raise coaching standards and build sustainable pathways across the region. From Setia Alam to Sarawak, the programme delivered structured training, certification opportunities, and community engagement designed to strengthen Malaysia’s role in the sport’s long‑term ecosystem.
Organisers described the initiative as “one of the most extensive pickleball education tours conducted in Asia to date,” underscoring the country’s growing influence in shaping the sport’s future. A highlight was the first‑ever RPO APAC MEGA Workshop and Alumni Gathering in Kuala Lumpur, which doubled as a large‑scale training platform and networking event. “This is not our first alumni gathering in Kuala Lumpur. Following the first‑ever Mega Workshop, this gathering demonstrates that we not only train and onboard new members, but also continue to support and grow alongside our existing community,” said the organisers.
RPO’s education framework, branded as the “gold standard” in pickleball coaching, goes beyond technical drills. Its COEBRA Intensity Programme and “alpha agile” mindset emphasise leadership, adaptability, and tactical development—qualities the organisation believes are essential for coaches tasked with sustaining growth across multiple countries.
The Malaysia leg was led by a roster of international experts. Collin Johns, fresh from winning the Men’s Doubles Championship at the PPA Kuala Lumpur Open, brought dual credibility as both elite athlete and educator. Connor Nguyen, known for founding Vietnam’s first professional basketball team, Saigon Heat, and launching the VBA, has been instrumental in building structured coaching networks across Asia. Aron Ong contributed as a COEBRA clinician, focusing on competitive player development and high‑efficiency methodologies.
RPO stressed that Malaysia is not merely a stop on the tour but a strategic hub for long‑term coaching and ecosystem development. “The long‑term development of pickleball depends not only on elite competition structures, but also on strong coaching ecosystems capable of producing future players and community leaders,” organisers added.
With Malaysia’s leg concluded, the APAC rollout continues: Vietnam in June, Japan and Singapore in July, the Philippines from July to August, and China in August. Additional locations are expected to be announced as part of RPO’s 2026 expansion plan.
