NBA Legend Dirk Nowitzki Headlines Celebrity Pickeball Showdown at Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships
The Jenius Pickleball World Championships to be held in Dallas, US, will have some sideshows and added attractions, and one of them is the Celebrity Pickleball Showdown. And for this year, with the event being held in the wonderful city of Dallas, the Celebrity Pickleball Showdown will be headlined by none other than Dallas Mavericks legend and NBA Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki.
The marquee event will take place on Championship Court at Brookhaven Country Club on 5 November 2025, Dallas time, and will benefit the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation through donations and an on-site raffle. Fans around the country can also catch the action live on Tennis Channel.
Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023, Nowitzki played 21 seasons with the Mavericks and won an NBA title in 2011. Nowitzki is the only player in NBA history to play for a single franchise for 21 years. A 14-time All-Star, the power forward was named NBA MVP in 2007.
“I have participated in the last few Pickleball Showdowns, and it is always so much fun,” said Nowitzki. “The event gets better every year as the national audience for pickleball continues to grow. We are also extremely grateful for the support the PPA is showing our Foundation this year through the raffle proceeds and encourage everyone to come out and purchase tickets to win some really great items.”

The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation is dedicated to putting children first and assisting them through programmes focusing on their well-being, health, and education. The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation awards grants annually and funds projects to nonprofit organisations which run true to the overall mission of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation. The Foundation lifts up children who are affected by illness, poverty, abuse, and neglect through proper channels of guidance and directs them on a path to success.
This year’s event promises to be yet another great pickleball exhibition. More participants are yet to be announced and will surely provide fans with more great memories to be enjoyed for a lifetime.
Thousands of amateur and professional players are expected to compete at the Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships on over 80 courts, and tens of thousands more fans and attendees are expected to take in the pickleball action and enjoy the festivities on Pickleball Boulevard at Brookhaven Country Club. Individual tickets for the Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships, along with week-long passes, and tickets for pickleball clinics and special events on-site at Brookhaven, are available now.
