It wasn’t too long ago when the inaugural season of Pickleball Champions League (PCL) Asia formally kicked off. Months later, in August, the Philippines was crowned as champion to close the curtain on a successful months-long competition.
Now, following the success of that memorable first season, PCL Asia is returning bigger, bolder, and better, with a promise of tougher competition, higher stakes, and improved visibility not only for pickleball but also for the players.
“What was incredibly interesting about Season One was when we had these eight teams come from all over Asia, we had really no idea which teams would be better. And we didn’t know what to expect. And what was actually amazing about Season One or initially about it is the teams were very close,” said PCL Asia Chairman Steve Kuhn during a press conference in the Philippines announcing the Philippine leg of the tournament, to be held on 15–16 November 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia.
PCL Asia Season 2: An Upgrade from PCL Asia Season 1
With Season Two, Chairman Kuhn and the rest of the PCL Asia brass are going all out to leapfrog the success of Season One. The record-breaking USD $256,000 prize pool Kuhn announced during the press conference is proof that PCL Asia Season Two will be much bigger than its predecessor. Kuhn guaranteed as much, especially with the Philippines’ Toby’s Sports helping out in organising the new season.
“Season Two will raise the bar with even more teams, higher stakes, and new rivalries. We’ve seen how passionate the players and fans are in the Philippines, and this season, we expect the competition to be tougher, the games more intense, and the spotlight on pickleball to shine even brighter across Asia,” Kuhn vowed.
A bigger and better PCL Asia is certainly good news for Asia’s pickleball community, who is always on the lookout for high-level competitions that offer exposure and lucrative prize pools.
