Philippine Beach Games to Feature One-Day Pickleball Tournament Organised by Nomads MNL

The annual Philippine Beach Games (PBG) is set to take place in Lingayen, Pangasinan this April, and it is poised to be bigger than ever.
A yearly multi-sport beach event for local and foreign athletes, PBG 2025 will also offer, for the first time ever, pickleball through a one-day pickleball tournament organised by Nomads MNL. This tournament, open for Novice and Intermediate picklers, will be held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) in Lingayen, Pangasinan on 12 Apri 2025.
There will be five teams each in the Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles in the Novice Category and five teams each in the Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles in the Intermediate Category.
The category definitions for this one-day pickleball tournament are as follows:
NOVICE: (skills self-rating level: 2.0–2.5)
Learning the basics, focusing on simple shots, and developing control.
INTERMEDIATE: (skills self-rating level: 3.0 – 3.5)
Able to sustain rallies, place shots with purpose, and improve consistency.
Rally scoring, patterned after Major League Pickleball (MLP), will be used for all matches. This means a team can score a point whether they served the ball or not. Games are played to 21 (sudden death if tied at 20), with the winning point to be earned only while serving.
The eliminations will be a single round robin. The 1st and 2nd teams based on games won will advance to the championship match, while the top 3rd team will earn the bronze.
Registration Fee is ₱1,000 inclusive of water, ice, and official Philippine Beach Games 2025 shirt (for those who will register by 28 March 2025). Prizes and giveaways worth ₱20,000 await the intrepid picklers who will join. JOOLA paddles and balls will be raffled away as well.
