Celebrities Take to Pickleball Court as PLDT Home Life, mWell Launch ₱399 Family Health Plan in PH
Pickleball has been a stage for brand launches before, but this one came with a prescription attached.
PLDT Home Life and mWell gathered celebrities, media, and PLDT Home Fiber customers for an afternoon of friendly pickleball matches, which doubled as the launch of the mWell Family Plan 399 and the brands’ “Make Health Part of Your Plan” campaign.
Eric “Eruption” Tai, Nicole Cordoves, Cherry Pie Picache, and Nikki Valdez headlined the event. They were joined by Carlene Aguilar, Kier Legaspi, Marc Solis, Michael Flores, Maureen Larrazabal, Jeffrey Santos, Ynez Veneracion, John Vic Guzman, and Jojo Abellana.
Why Pickleball?
According to the organisers, pickleball was chosen because of its growing popularity in the country. It’s easy to pick up, social, and played by all ages, which makes it a natural fit for a campaign aimed at whole families.
The message, though, went beyond the court. Staying active is only one part of staying healthy, the organisers said. Regular check-ups, good sleep, and mental well-being matter just as much, whether someone plays every weekend or is only just getting back into moving.
What the Plan Covers
The mWell Family Plan 399 costs ₱399 a month and covers up to four family members. PLDT Home Fiber subscribers can charge it directly to their monthly PLDT bill. The plan includes:
- Unlimited on-demand teleconsultations with licensed general practitioners for up to four family members
- Unlimited access to certified mental health coaches, plus a Mind Health Score for tracking emotional well-being
- The mWell Fam Dashboard, where families can monitor the health metrics of all covered members in one place
- An annual, replenishable ₱20,000 Personal Accident Insurance for the primary subscriber
- A free mWell Prestige Watch that pairs with the app to monitor heart rate, steps, and sleep
For active households, the mWellness Score stands out, tracking steps, physical activity, inactivity, and sleep quality.
mWell Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Gary Dujali pointed to the price as the main draw. “For less than the cost of a single face-to-face consultation, an entire family now has access and can stay protected all year round,” he said.
mWell President and CEO Chaye Cabal-Revilla said bringing the consultations, mind health support, and dashboard together in the app helps families “understand how their loved ones are doing” and seek timely medical advice. It’s worth noting that the plan doesn’t replace emergency hospital care. Its purpose is to make everyday medical advice easier to get, without a clinic trip or a consultation fee.

Health Starts at Home
The timing is deliberate. Many families put off check-ups to save money, and, according to the Department of Health and industry reports, 44.7% of healthcare spending in the Philippines comes directly out of pocket.
“In times like these, we cannot afford to wait for illness to strike before paying attention to our health,” said PLDT Home Vice President and Head of Home Digital Services Evert Chris Miranda. “That’s why good health has to start at home.”
The plan falls under PLDT Home Life, which has already added entertainment, home security, and smart living to PLDT Home’s services. Health and wellness is the latest addition.
More details are available at pldthome.com/mwell, and the mWell app can be downloaded on iOS, Android, and Huawei AppGallery.
Indeed, between the celebrity rallies and a ₱399 price tag, the launch shows how far pickleball’s reach now extends. The sport is no longer just a game. It’s becoming a way to talk about everyday life.
