PPA Tour Asia Announces First Four Stops of 2027, Welcomes Thailand, Philippines to Big Show
The Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam 2026 just concluded what has been a banner season for the PPA Tour Asia, and yet there’s already more to look forward to in the coming year.
Mark your calendars, because the 2027 PPA Tour Asia season is shaping up nicely, and two new destinations are about to join the party. The tour has revealed its first four stops of the year, according to PPA Tour Asia, with four PPA Asia 500 events across four cities, two of which are brand new to the circuit.
The First Four Stops of PPA Tour Asia 2027
- Bangkok Open 2027: Bangkok, Thailand | 27–31 January 2027
- Manila Open 2027: Manila, Philippines | 24–28 February 2027
- Penang Open 2027: Penang, Malaysia | 16–20 March 2027
- Ho Chi Minh City Open 2027: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | 31 March–4 April 2027
Thailand and the Philippines Make Their Debuts
The new year kicks off with two firsts for the tour.
First up is Thailand. The Bangkok Open 2027 opens the season from 27 to 31 January 2027, and it will be the first time the city’s players and fans see Pro pickleball live. That’s rather fitting, considering how new courts and clubs have been popping up across Bangkok in recent times.
A month later, it’s Manila’s turn. The Manila Open 2027, set for 24 to 28 February 2027, marks the tour’s debut in the Philippines. Pickleball has grown fast in the country, and local fans will now get a PPA Tour Asia event of their own, with a week of big matches and some of the tour’s top talent up close on home soil.
Two debuts in two months? Not a bad way to start the year.
PPA Tour Asia Goes Back to Malaysia and Vietnam
The tour then returns to familiar ground in March. First, it heads to Penang for the Penang Open 2027 from 16 to 20 March 2027, marking its fifth visit to Malaysia and bringing Pro pickleball to the country’s north.
Two weeks later, it’s off to one of pickleball’s biggest destinations in the region. The Ho Chi Minh City Open 2027, running 31 March to 4 April 2027, will be the tour’s fifth stop in Vietnam.
The Road to the PPA Finals
All of it leads to the PPA Finals, set for Life Time Rancho San Clemente in California, USA, from May 10 to 16. The top eight men and women in the overall World Pickleball Rankings will qualify for the end-of-season event, so every point on the Asian swing will count.
More calendar announcements are on the way, so watch this space.
