Sarawak Public Communications Unit Holds UKAS Get-Together 2026 to Promote Active Lifestyle

The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) successfully held the UKAS Get-Together 2026, an event filled with social pickleball games meant to promote the benefits of an active lifestyle to one’s health and fitness.

No less than Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming highlighted the importance of a health-focused way of life, while also underscoring the need to reset and refocus—something he did by playing pickleball.

“Sometimes, all we need is a little movement to reset and refocus,” Pang said in his keynote speech at the UKAS Get-Together 2026.

Pang also pointed out how being active is not just a form of self-love, but one of the best forms of it.

“Staying active and taking care of our health are among the best forms of self-love,” he said.

What’s more, Pang added that sports such as pickleball are not only a way to maintain good physical wellbeing, but also a means to strengthen teamwork and foster camaraderie — two traits that make pickleball such a fun sport to engage in.

“On the court, there are no titles—just teammates, healthy competition, and plenty of laughter,” added Pang, who also noted that he is intimately familiar with the venue of the event—Kenyalang Pickleball Central—because he occasionally goes there to unwind by playing social pickleball games, even with his busy schedule.

Joining Pang and the various UKAS members at the UKAS Get-Together 2026 was the Sarawak Premier’s political secretary, Angellie Stephen Raja.
