Sports Arina Set to Open in 2026 in Singapore, Will Launch Soundproofed Pickleball Facility

The Fernvale neighbourhood will soon be welcoming an indoor sports and recreation hub. Named Sports Arina, this new sporting venue is currently being built beside Thanggam LRT and is scheduled to open in Q1 of 2026. The facility will house pickleball, futsal, and padel courts, along with a children’s training pool and a multi-purpose hall.

Notably, Sports Arina is implementing soundproofing within the facility, with plans to enclose the pickleball facility and add more trees around the venue itself. These measures come on the heels of residents in various communities lodging complaints to local authorities about the noise and disturbance being caused by players playing in community courts.

In response to these complaints, quite a few town councils have already implemented measures like reducing play hours and encouraging the use of “quiet equipment.” A few have resorted to outright banning pickleball on courts purportedly exclusive to badminton.

To this end, the opening of Sports Arina will give Singapore’s pickleball players—at least those living in Fernvale and nearby areas—another venue to play. And as it is privately run, Sports Arina will likely be a fantastic option for picklers looking for a top-notch facility to enjoy the world’s fastest-rising sport.

Bigger picture, Sports Arina’s pickleball facility could serve as a template for private investors planning to build similar playing venues to cater to Singapore’s growing pickleball community.
