Philippines’ Anna Clarice Patrimonio Bags Gold, Bronze at 2025 World Pickleball Championship in Vietnam

The Philippines’ Anna Clarice Patrimonio bagged two medals—gold and bronze—at the 2025 World Pickleball Championship held from 8th to 19th January at the Hoiana Resort & Golf in Hoi An, Quang Nam, Vietnam.

Patrimonio stamped her class in the Women’s Singles 19+ Open category, beating out India’s Mihika Yadav to bag the gold medal. Yadav is one of India’s best picklers to date.

“I didn’t expect this to happen in the first month of 2025,” said Patrimonio, who dedicated her golden triumph to her daughter, Athena, and the rest of her family. “Thanks to my baby Athena for giving me the strength to fight harder in every match. Every match is for you—I love you very much. Thank you to my family for helping with my baby when I’m away for the tournament.”

The 2025 World Pickleball Championship held in picturesque Hoi brought together top pickleball players from all across Asia, including picklers from the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. It was organized by Pickleball Global and is one of the most prestigious in the international pickleball calendar.

Patrimonio, who was recently tapped by the Chennai Super Champs to replace Maria Klokotzy in their World Pickleball League franchise, also claimed bronze in the Mixed Doubles 19+ Open Category. The Filipino pickler teamed up with India’s Mayur Patil.

The 31-year-old Patrimonio currently has a Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) score of 5.099 in doubles and 4.924 in singles. She will be teaming up with other superb picklers in the WPBL, as the Super Champs have a roster that includes Sonu Kumar Vishwakarma (India), Edward Perez (USA), Tanner Tomassi (USA), Sarah Jane Lim (Philippines), Etienne Blaszkewycz (Canada), Thaddea Lock (UK), and Tyra Calderwood (Australia). The team will be coached by Joey Farias.

The WPBL will kick off on Friday, 24 January at the iconic Brabourne Stadium Cricket Club of India, which means there’ll be no rest for the newly minted champ.
