APP Asia Tour Heads to Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 Offers USD $50K, First-Ever APP US vs. Asia Showdown
Vietnam’s pickleball fever is about to get a major stage, and a little international rivalry to go with it.
The APP Asia Tour is making a stop in Ho Chi Minh City this December for the APP Asia Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026, four days of international pickleball at VIAS Pickleball Academy from 10 to 13 December. Organised by SEVA (Sports Era Vietnam Asia), the event brings together a USD $50,000 cash prize pool, a line-up of international pros and top Vietnamese players, and the first-ever APP US vs Asia showdown.
Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 comes just a month after the APP Asia Bangkok Open 2026 set to run from 17 to 22 November 2026,
Real Money for Pros and Amateurs Alike
Of the USD $50,000 on the line, USD $35,000 is reserved for the pros and USD $15,000 for the amateurs. Professionals get a shot at an APP Asia title against international opposition, while amateurs get the thrill of competing at an international event with cash up for grabs. Few tournaments in the region offer both under the same roof.
Registration is now open to players from Vietnam, across Asia, and around the world through the tournament’s SportsSync page.
Stars from Abroad, Heroes at Home
The international contingent includes Jack Munro, Megan Fudge, Roos Van Reek, Richard Livornese, and Ronan Camron. Facing them will be leading Vietnamese players Quang Duong, Phuc Huynh, Trinh Linh Giang, and Trang Huynh.
That sets up some compelling matchups between established APP competitors and some of Vietnam’s most recognisable pickleball names. For the home crowd, it’s a chance to cheer on their own against international opposition. For the visitors, it’s a first-hand look at the ability and enthusiasm of Vietnam’s pickleball community.
The headline attraction might be the first-ever APP US vs Asia showdown, which promises to add an extra layer of regional pride to the proceedings. It puts the spotlight on talent from both the US and Asian circuits and reflects a central ambition of the APP Asia Tour: to connect Asian players with the wider international game by letting them compete directly. Details on the format, team selections, and schedule will be announced ahead of the event.

Why It Matters
For Vietnamese players, the tournament is a chance to test themselves on home soil and share a court with experienced pros, something that can teach plenty about the demands of higher-level play. The amateur programme, meanwhile, ensures club and recreational players are part of the action too.
And for those travelling in, there’s more than pickleball. Between the local cafés, Vietnamese cuisine, markets, and city landmarks, there’s plenty to explore around the match schedule.
Indeed, between the money, the matchups, and a US vs Asia clash, the Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 has plenty to be excited about. December can’t come soon enough.
