Professional pickleball is coming back to Ho Chi Minh City—and it is bringing more than 500 players from over 20 countries and territories with it.
The MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 was officially launched on 20 July, marking PPA Tour Asia’s second Vietnam stop of the year following April’s action-packed Hanoi Cup. The tournament runs from 6 to 9 August at New Sports Club, City Park, The Global City in Binh Trung Ward, with a USD $70,000 professional prize pool and up to 500 PPA global ranking points on the line for champions.
Vietnam’s continued presence on the PPA Tour Asia calendar is no accident. The country has become one of the most vibrant pickleball communities in Asia, and the tour’s decision to return twice in a single season reflects exactly that. After stops in Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, Macao, Beijing, and Tokyo—with Singapore immediately preceding Ho Chi Minh City—the tour arrives in Vietnam’s southern hub with momentum and a field that filled up fast. More than 500 players registered across professional and amateur divisions in just over three weeks.
The on-court storylines are compelling. Local fans will be watching closely for the reunion of Mixed Doubles pair Hien Truong and Sophia Huynh, who last competed together at the MB Hanoi Cup in April. The professional field is also expected to feature former Men’s Doubles world No. 1 Collin Johns and Jack Wong Hong-kit—the Hong Kong, China star who has been one of PPA Tour Asia’s most decorated players in 2026—alongside the broader cast of regional and international talent that makes each stop of this tour genuinely competitive.
All 16 competition courts have been upgraded to PPA Tour Asia standards and are fully covered, with additional rain protection across all four days. The Championship Court, Grandstand Court, and 14 standard courts give players and spectators a purpose-built tournament environment rather than an improvised one.
For spectators, Championship Court tickets go on sale at noon on 22 July via Ticketbox, ranging from VND 265,000 to 660,000 for general admission, VND 530,000 to 1,190,000 for VIP, and VND 2,380,000 to 7,920,000 for VVIP. VIP and VVIP packages include official tournament merchandise and VIP Lounge access. The Grandstand Court, standard courts, and the Pickletown experience village—which made its debut at the Hanoi stop and returns bigger this time—are all free to enter.
The headline addition for 2026 is the MB Central VVIP tier, the tournament’s most premium offering. Guests sit in the centre row along the sideline—the closest seats to the action anywhere in the venue—and receive an exclusive package including a pickleball paddle, premium sports backpack, and additional merchandise, alongside full VIP Lounge access. The tier is reserved for MB customers.
This is the fourth PPA Tour Asia stop that MB has backed as title sponsor in Vietnam, and the bank’s marketing director Nguyen Thi Viet Nga was clear about what the partnership represents beyond sponsorship.
