Quang Duong Encounters String of Heartbreaks in APP Sacramento Open 2026
Quang Duong’s first appearance on the APP Tour in the US ended in disappointment after a difficult run at the APP Sacramento Open 2026. The Vietnamese player missed out on the Mixed Doubles final, bowing out in the semifinals alongside partner Vivian Glozman.
The pair fought hard against Richard Livornese Jr. and Megan Fudge. After dropping the opening set 5‑11, Duong and Glozman roared back with a dominant 11‑1 win in the second. But the deciding set slipped away, 8‑11, ending their hopes of reaching the championship match.
It capped a frustrating week for Quang Duong. He had already withdrawn from the Men’s Singles due to food poisoning and exited the Men’s Doubles in the round of 16 after his partner, Jayden Broderick, suffered an injury.
For Quang Duong, Sacramento was meant to be a fresh start. The tournament marked his return to the United States after being removed from the PPA rankings and the Major League Pickleball system following contractual disputes. Instead, it became a test of resilience.
Despite the setbacks, Duong’s presence on the APP Tour signals a new chapter. His debut may have been unlucky, but it also showed flashes of promise. With more opportunities ahead, he will be eager to turn the page and prove himself on the international stage.
